Entering Into Eternity

This weekend, I had the privilege of preaching the funeral of my maternal grandmother — Memaw.  While saddened by her sudden death, her service truly was a celebration of a life “well-lived and well-finished.”  It was also a stark reminder that “none of us knows the day or the hour” that we will be called to stand before our Maker.  Going to bed on Tuesday night, Memaw probably was not thinking about her own death.  However, the Lord in His perfect wisdom, decided it was her time.  By the grace of God, she was ready.  The issue that everyone at that funeral service was forced to face was the answer to the question, are your ready? Well, are you?

I continue to pray for my mom, my uncle and my aunt, that the Lord will give them peace and comfort.

Bill, I was thinking and praying for you during this time. I had the privilege of preaching my grandmother’s funeral several years ago. It was difficult, but one of my fondest memories.

By the way, I hope you will write here a little more often than every 6 months :) .
